About DPRdance
DPRdance is a 501(c)3 through the fiscal sponsor Fractured Atlas. Since it's inception in 2018, DPRdance has produced original works in festivals, residency, off Broadway and regionally. Rooted in the technique of Jack Cole as taught by Chet Walker, DPRdance exists to create new jazz dance pieces, investigate and expand the definition of jazz dance, offer community classes and nurture new work.
DPRdance: Sesssions
Inspired by the tradtion of jazz musicians gathering for improvised jam sessions, DPRdance: Sessions is a space meant to bring together and nurture voices in jazz dance. Sessions is a space for dancers and choreographers to share their process with communitu, an opportunity to show work, connect with community, receive structured feedback and hopefully find inspiration to continue completing original work.
DPRdance: and Paint
Is an open community class in collaboration with the visual artist David James Lavin. While class is progressing, David observes and creates a piece of original art. After class, dancers and artist mingle to discuss the painting and the movement.
